Energy follows consciousness, consciousness follows energy. Understanding this relationship in the key to transformation.

— Traditional tantric teaching

This 1-year training in Kundalini Tantra: An Integrative Approach offers a thorough initiation into the sacred path of liberating energy and expanding consciousness through the seven major energy centers of the body.

Explore how kundalini awakening naturally unfolds through sustained practice and direct guidance—revealing the joy of being and the recognition of your true nature. This program offers not just techniques, but a complete transformation in how you experience and understand your own energy and consciousness.

The Integrative Approach: Grounded primarily in Tantra and drawing from Hatha Yoga, Advaita Vedanta, Alchemical Chi Gong, the KAP system, neuroscience, and Transpersonal Psychology, this training supports practitioners through a trauma-informed methodology. Ancient practices meet contemporary application—integrating techniques to cleanse, amplify, and direct energy while honoring the nervous system's need for safety and sustainability.

The emphasis is direct experience through long-term practice. Always oriented in present-moment awareness, you'll work with asana, pranayama, bandhas, meditation, self-inquiry, mantra, yantra, mudra, and somatic practices—cultivating skill in navigating both embodied and transcendent experiences. Many practitioners today are having profound insights and spontaneous awakenings; this training helps orient and ground those shifts through systematic practice and clear understanding.

For yoga teachers, therapists, coaches, and spiritual guides, this program equips you with the understanding and tools to compassionately support clients and students experiencing kundalini activation or spiritual emergence.

What is Kundalini?

Kundalini is the force behind the evolution of human consciousness. Kundalini awakening refers to a process of the activation of energy believed to be at the base of the spine. As this energy is aroused we activate deep internal bio-psycho-social-spiritual shifts that transform our whole being from the inside out.

Kundalini awakening is often perceived as highly mystical and unattainable; in truth, the activation of higher potentials is our birth rite and available for those who engage with sincerity, humility, courage, wisdom and commitment.

Our approach

We honor the sacred power of Kundalini energy through gradual, mindful practices that prioritize safety and natural awakening over forceful techniques. Our approach combines traditional wisdom with modern understanding, creating a gentle yet potent path where transformation unfolds organically at the perfect pace for your unique energetic system.

What This Training Is

This training is a comprehensive, integrative approach to kundalini work—bridging traditional tantric practices with trauma-informed methodology to make ancient wisdom accessible for contemporary practitioners navigating spiritual deepening and awakening in modern life. It provides systematic, embodied practices, clear theoretical understanding, and integration skills for those experiencing or preparing for energetic transformation.

What This Training Is Not

This training is not a formal single-lineage transmission requiring initiation or diksha—it is an integrative educational program drawing from multiple traditions and direct experience. It is not a guarantee of kundalini awakening, which cannot be forced or promised, nor does it claim to be the only valid approach to this work. What it offers is preparation, understanding, and skillful means for working with kundalini energy safely and sustainably.

  • We engage the process mindfully, respectfully, safely, gently, applying an approach that is grounded, reliable, relatable, systematic

  • We take a depth vs. breadth approach - we learn specific, targeted practices and then practice them for a long time. Therefore it’s an experience of deepening vs. accumulation.

  • Tools used are: movement, breath, visualization, activation of emotions, yantra, mantra, directed energy and awareness, somatic activation and awareness.

  • We spend roughly one month on each chakra

  • We integrate as we continue month by month, chakra by chakra. Meaning, as we move on to the subsequent chakra we transcend and include the former chakra to therefore integrate both chakras.

  • We learn formal ‘on the mat’ practices, as well as ‘off the mat | everyday life’ practices (ie. grocery shopping meditation for chakra 1)

  • We experience the culmination of the course as spiritual empowerment; recognition and embrace of your own divine creator-ship.

Guest Faculty Masterclasses

Three distinguished teachers join us throughout the year, each bringing decades of direct experience to illuminate essential dimensions of the Kundalini path through specialized masterclass offerings. Each teacher was carefully chosen for their rare power of transmission—their very presence carries the living current of the teachings they embody.

What distinguishes these teachers is their capacity to awaken understanding beyond concepts—through the energetic transmission that emanates from their embodied wisdom.

Mark transmits the essence of authentic tantric practice through the five foundational principles that transform technique into sacred participation.

Rather than approaching practice as a method to achieve divinity, he guides you into the recognition that consciousness is already exploring itself through you. This teaching liberates practice from the burden of self-improvement and awakens you to the profound mystery of being the divine experiencing itself—a shift from doing the practices to allowing the practices to reveal what has always been true.

Mark is an elder and lineage holder, having been taught directly by Krishnamacharya – the grandfather of modern yoga.

Sharada, a living embodiment of sacred wisdom with decades of practice, offers potent transmissions woven throughout the year.

Sharada unveils the archetypal wisdom encoded in Vedic deities, revealing how these sacred forms map the landscape of your own psyche and energetic awakening. Each month's teaching corresponds to the chakra being explored, bringing alive the mythology and symbolism that allow you to meet each energy center not as an abstract concept but as a living dimension of consciousness with its own intelligence, challenges, and gifts.

You'll receive powerful mantras aligned with each chakra's deity, giving you precise sonic tools to invoke, stabilize, and integrate specific states of consciousness. These sacred sound formulas become lifelong companions that bypass intellectual understanding to create immediate shifts in your inner landscape through the vibrational power of sacred speech. Sharada’s study and teachings are rooted in the traditional Advaita Vedanta of the Sarswati lineage.

Tina guides us through a 5-hour intensive exploring the essential intersection of somatic awareness and energetic practice. Drawing from her extensive experience, she illuminates how to recognize the subtle signs of nervous system activation, establish genuine safety in the body, and skillfully navigate the intensities that may arise along the journey of awakening.

This foundation ensures that your energy practices are titrated safely, balanced alongside the steady cultivation of a grounded & nourished nervous system. Deepening your capacity for presence rather than bypassing unintegrated material, while allowing transformation to unfold from a place of embodied stability rather than spiritual ambition.

Pillars of the program

Regular practice, study of sacred texts, associating with the wise, and constant contemplation of truth—these are declared to be the foundations of true knowledge.
— Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 13, Verse 8-12

To help you experientially understand and integrate of the content of this program, we employ the 4 yogic pillars for spiritual growth:

I

Sadhana: Spiritual practice

Engage in a regular practice, which will be a combination of guided classes by Tanya as well as personal self-practice.

II

Satsang: Spiritual teachings

Receive teachings rooted in the tradition of yoga and tantra whose singular purpose is fulfilment in human life. The teachings act as sacred keys that liberate energy and expand consciousness.

III

Sangha: Spiritual community

Stay connected to like minded, like-hearted, and like-spirited group of students. Together you will grow and keep each other accountable as well as mutually support each other through the highs and lows of this sacred process. Spiritual community is an essential component for success on this path.

IV

Swadyaya: Contemplation & Self Inquiry

While we do take time for formal study or concentrated practice, you will be self-reflecting, self-inquiring and applying your insights in real life situations. This takes it off the mat/cushion and integrates it into life, out of the head and integrates it into the body.

Tanya Kaps

Tanya has been practicing and teaching Hatha Yoga for 25 years with both modern and traditional influences, as well as 13 years sitting in traditional Vedanta teachings with Swami Vagishananda.

At the age of 36, she had a powerful kundalini awakening experience during this time she dove deep into study and practice to facilitate the integration process; at which time she sought out he guidance from reliable teachers specializing in Kundalini Tantra.

Her courses have a pervasive spiritual emphasis reminding students that the spiritual journey is a journey of resolving paradox. May we have a deep recognition that we are already full and complete, and paradoxically, out of fullness, May we embrace our ever-changing-ness and our human evolutionary potentials.

LINEAGE & APPROACH

Tanya's teachings for this course are informed by 25 years of practice and teaching in Hatha Yoga (rooted in Tantra), 12 years of study in Advaita Vedanta under Swami Vagishananda, and a multi-year process of navigating and integrating her own kundalini awakening under the guidance of qualified teachers and masters, as well as training/practice in the KAP system (Kundalini Awakening Process).

These teachings are not drawn from a single formal lineage initiation. Rather, they represent an integration of cross-traditional study, sustained personal practice, and direct embodied experience.

Tanya’s statement on Intention & Integrity

This course does not promise to awaken your kundalini. Kundalini awakening cannot be guaranteed or manufactured on demand—it unfolds according to its own wisdom and timing.

The intention of this training is to:

  • Prepare your body, mind, and energy system for the possibility of awakening

  • Provide clear understanding of kundalini mechanics, signs, and stages

  • Offer practices that create optimal conditions for shakti to move safely

  • Equip you with tools to navigate energetic experiences skillfully

  • Build a foundation of knowledge rooted in both ancient and contemporary understanding

  • Support integration if and when awakening occurs

This is an education in Kundalini as an evolutionary force & Tantra as a system of practices and teachings to awaken human potential —offering preparation, understanding, and skillful means—while honoring that the awakening itself remains a grace beyond our control.

Sharada Devi

Shāradā Devī is a globally recognized spiritual teacher & mentor, Vedic priestess, and the visionary founder of Devī School, where ancient wisdom meets embodied spirituality.

At the age of 18, while traveling in India, Shāradā experienced a spiritual awakening a profound insight into the nature of reality. However, this transformative moment was accompanied by a diagnosis of psychosis. She was told she would never live a normal life and would need medication for the rest of her days. Rather than defeating her, these words ignited her passion for life and set her on a journey to seek and know true freedom. Today, her life stands as a testament to the power of transformation, proving that ancient wisdom and modern tools can make healing and wholeness accessible to all.

With over 20 years of study in Vedānta, Yoga, Tantra, Sanskrit, Āyurveda, Vedic Chanting, Meditation and Pūjā sacred rituals under the esteemed lineage of Swami Dayānanda Saraswati in Bali and India, Shāradā has become a masterful guide in helping others reclaim their essential wholeness and erotic aliveness. Her pioneering Devī Methodology bridges ancient Vedic wisdom with trauma-informed practices, offering transformative tools that honor both the sacred feminine and masculine.

Whether guiding individuals, leading retreats, hosting deeply transformative, earth-rooted mystical events, or creating community initiatives, Shāradā embodies the transformative power of devotion, resilience, and spiritual embodiment. Her life’s work is rooted in the conviction that we can return to wholeness, reclaim our inherent dignity, and live fully empowered lives—illuminated by ancient wisdom and awakened by the sacred fire of erotic aliveness.

Tina’s work centres within the understanding that many of the contractions of the body-mind are a manifestation of identifying with thoughts and behaviours that are misaligned with the truth of who we are.

All of Tina’s embodiment based programmes focus on consciously unravelling these holding patterns within our body-mind's, in a myriad of ways, with guided transformative loving awareness.

In cultivating the art of heart-centred embodied listening—deep presence, curiosity, directed awareness, compassionate holding and conscious breath within each asana—Tina’s work engages all eight limbs of yoga on the mat.
